As a small organisation primarily offering remote and in-person training, our carbon footprint is relatively low. However, we acknowledge the need to monitor and reduce emissions across key areas, including business travel, digital resource usage, and operational energy consumption. We will publish an annual Carbon Reduction Report, assessing emissions across our operations and outlining further reductions. Our reporting will align with the UK Government’s Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 on carbon reduction plans.

- Travel emissions from on-site school visits and in-person training delivery

To actively reduce emissions, Abigail Steel Training Ltd has implemented and committed to the following measures:
1. Remote and Digital Delivery Priority
- Expanding online CPD delivery through webinars, self-study courses, and virtual coaching, reducing the need for travel
- Utilising Thinkific and Crowdcast, which support low-carbon digital hosting solutions
- Encouraging trainers to use public transport or car-sharing for in-person training sessions
- Reducing the frequency of in-person training where online alternatives are effective
- Using energy-efficient office equipment and cloud-based systems to reduce electricity consumption
- Ensuring digital platforms used are compliant with sustainable hosting practices
- Prioritising subcontractors and suppliers who have carbon reduction commitments
- Encouraging suppliers to align with environmentally responsible practices
- Using paperless processes for all administrative tasks and training materials
- Encouraging schools and trainees to use digital rather than printed resources
- Exploring carbon offset initiatives for unavoidable emissions, such as travel to essential events
- Conducting an annual carbon footprint review to track progress and identify areas for further reduction
