Whole-School Reading Review

Providing primary and secondary school leaders with the support, ideas and resources to improve reading outcomes for all children.
Picture

Reading is under the spotlight like never before, and rightfully so: a child's reading ability, coupled with their desire to read, is the most powerful indicator of their future success.
However, the added pressures brought about by the pandemic, and every school's desire to provide the best possible education for their pupils, means that sometimes schools need an expert guide to support them through the process of:
  • assessing the effectiveness of provision and
  • deciding how to move forward.

A Minerva Learning Reading Review will provide you with the confidence to know just how well your learners are reading as well as providing you with the tools to help you on your improvement journey.
By choosing to take part in a reading review you will be provided with:
  • A full day's support involving monitoring and feedback (learning walk, book look, teacher and pupil interviews etc.) with one of our experts
  • Support and practical advice to help you plan your next steps
  • A process designed to meet the needs and priorities of each school
  • The confidence to feel 'Ofsted ready'
  • An optional written report which makes clear the findings and suggests actions is also available.
In addition, you will receive English updates by email between events, as well as access to both facilitators by email should you want to ask for advice or need signposting to particular resources.
"The process was both robust and supportive. It provided us with clear strengths, areas of improvement and examples of what we could do to achieve these. I would highly recommend this review process, and look forward to continuing to work with Minerva further to improve reading within our school, to ensure all children leave us being confident, fluent readers who have a real thirst and love of reading."                                                                      Ruth Ryan, Headteacher, Milton Keynes
